Walter Rinavera Big Band
Synopsis
Putting a big band together is anything but easy, because of the difficulty of the challenge and the numerous band members. In 2006, however, drummer Walter Rinavera successfully did it, to help spread the tradition of big orchestras by performing the original compositions of famed arrangers and composers. In addition to keeping the big band spirit alive, the project serves as a generational bridge: it allows more experienced musicians to share their knowledge with the younger ones, playing a key role in preserving the orchestral style.
