PRESENCIA ARGENTINA EN LA COMPETENCIA INTERNACIONAL

In this edition, three Argentine films will participate in the prestigious International Competition: La araña vampiro, by Gabriel Medina; Germania, debut film by Maximiliano Schonfeld; and Los Salvajes, by Alejandro Fadel. Together with these, there will be three foreign films that will have their world premiere at this BAFICI: Aquí estoy aquí no, by Chilean director Elisa Eliash; The International Sign for Choking, by American Zach Weintraub; and Emak bakial, by Basque filmmaker Oskar Alegría.

La araña vampiro is Medina’s (Los paranoicos) second film and narrates the story of a young man who suffers panic attacks and travels with his father to an isolated place looking for some peace and quiet. Germania marks the directorial debut of Maximiliano Schonfeld, with a story based on the vicissitudes of a German family as they prepare to abandon their farm, in a small town in the province of Entre Ríos. And Alejandro Fadel’s (co-director of the highly praised El amor primera parte) Los salvajes revolves around the survival of a group of underage youths as they flee from a reform school.
