Preview UNA HISTORIA CHILENA

Daniel and Alejandra have been together for a couple of years now. As they approach their forties, they set out on a new adventure: taking a chance on the countryside. But Alejandra suffers from a serious illness, which will slowly wipe out her dreams and put Daniel’s love and patience to test. This is the central point of Sentados frente al fuego, the second feature film by Chilean director Alejandro Fernández Almendras (following his hit film Huacho, premiered at Cannes Film Festival and prize-winner at Viña del Mar Film Festival, among other recognitions).

Set in the Maule region (one of the most severely hit by the earthquake that shook Chile in 2010), the film stars Daniel Muñoz and Alejandra Yáñez, with music by none other than Los Jaivas. Today, Friday, it is a good day to see this German-Chilean co-production that was premiered at the 2011 Valdivia Film Festival and later screened at the prestigious San Sebastian Film Festival.
