Preview EL VIAJE MENOS PENSADO

A young 16-year-old musician, a natural New Guinea-born rapper, lands in Rosario almost by chance (he wanted to arrive in Europe, like other fellow countrymen), where he pursues his dream of recording and editing his music against all odds. This amazing real story, wonderful for its tiniest details, inspired Rosario-born director Rubén Plataneo to make the documentary El gran río, included in the “Adolescences” section of Panorama. Why do young Africans put their lives at risk? What do they expect to gain from such a risky adventure? What is their view of the New World? What do David’s Guinea-based family and friends think about the exodus of young generations? Looking for answers, David Bangoura takes viewers with his music on a ride through Guinea and Argentina, in a moving story of flight and migration paced to the beat of hip-hop.

This is an unusual and passionate narration of the new millennium, featuring music, languages and different forms of cultural resistance and survival strategies. This particular story will be screened tomorrow, Monday 16, on Wednesday 18 and on Sunday 16. Tickets for these screenings can be purchased in person at the Festival’s ticket outlets and also online at this website.
