Jorge González is one of the most eminent double bass players of the Argentine jazz scene.
He has appeared with most of the Argentinian masters of the genre, as well as with the fellow musicians who visited our country. He is a member of the Swing Timers since 1955, and was part of Jorge Navarro’s trio for over twenty years.
Over the span of his career Gonález played in different steady groups, like that of pianist and organist Horacio Larumbe’s, and also performed alongside drummers Néstor Astarita and Osvaldo López. He engaged in numerous projects together with Fats Fernández, Jorge Anders, Baby López Fürst, Gustavo Bergalli, Pocho Lapouble, Santiago Giacobbe, Alfredo Wülff, Rodolfo Alchourron, Sergio Mihanovich, Eduardo Casalla, Gato Barbieri, Chivo Borraro and Dino Saluzzi. He also stood out as an advocate and manager of nightclubs like El Fonógrafo, La Oreja and Jazz & Pop.
