Born in Buenos Aires in 1958, he studied jazz and improvisation with Carlos Balmaceda, and harmony, form, composition and musical analysis with Manolo Juárez. His solid classical background has left an imprint on his playing style. Hence his identification with the richest piano styles in jazz: ragtime, stride, blues, boogie-woogie and even the modern Afro-Cuban “tumbados” from the Latin jazz. In 1994 the Konex Foundation awarded him a prize for his long-standing career alongside Fénix Jazz Band. At present he performs with trios, with double bass players Jorge López Ruiz and Alfredo Remus, and with drummers Oscar Giunta and Germán Boco, as well as in solo piano concerts.
