 Juan Cruz de Urquiza 's biography

The trumpeter Juan Cruz de Urquiza was born in Buenos Aires in 1965. He has played with Arnie Lawrence, Paquito D’Rivera, Chucho Valdés (at Teatro Colón along with the Filarmónica de Buenos Aires), Fred Hersch, Johnny Coles, Mike Longo, Marc Copland, Claudio Roditi, Conrad Herwig, Javier Malosetti, Horacio Larumbe and Jorge Navarro, among others. He was part of the concert Mundos together with Jordy Rossi, Perico Sambeat and Javier Colina. He was the founder and one of the main composers of Quinteto Urbano. He toured Spain, France and Mexico along with Chano Domínguez. Besides being one of the most prolific session musicians, he has recorded two albums as a leader: De este lado and Vigilia.
