Fernando Huergo

The bassist Fernando Huergo lives in Boston. In 1992, he graduated from Berklee College of Music. Among his teachers and influences we can mention Charlie Banacos, Jerry Bergonzi, Cecil McBee, John Lockwood and George Rusell. Since 1996 he has been Associate Professor of the bass department of that institution. He gives classes at Tufis University. In 2010 he received a commission from Chamber Music of America. He has recorded more than 130 records, nine as a leader. His last album is Provinciano, released by Sunnyside Records in 2008. His last five records were released by Fresh Sound, World Jazz. Huergo plays with Guillermo Klein and Los Guachos, Marta Gómez, Leo Blanco, El Eco, Matthias Bublath, Víctor Mendoza and Felipe Salles, and he accompanied Danilo Pérez, Luciana Souza, César Camargo Mariano, Hendrik Meurkens, Dave Valentín, Dave Liebman, Dave Samuels and Joe Beck, among others. He has also given many tours around America, Europe and Asia. He has given classes everywhere, even in the United States.
The flutist Yulia Musayelyan was born in Russia. She studied at Gnessin School and she got a master degree at New York University. She takes part of projects that involve popular and academic music. She was awarded the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts and the National Merit Foundation. Her first album as a leader was Caminos and it was edited this year.
The pianist Natalio Luis Mangalavite was born in Córdoba, Argentina but he has been living in Rome for more than twenty years. He was Ornella Vanoni’s musical director and he played with Javier Girotto, Peppe Servillo, Roberto Gatto, Paolo Fresu and Fabrizio Bosso. Juan Cruz de Urquiza and Franco Pinna complete the group.
