Biography
Pianist Abel Rogantini was born in Buenos Aires in 1969. He made his debut with the Semblanza trio on tour around Europe during 1990. He plays with prominent musicians of different genres and teaches at national institutions. He has studied with Fred Hersch, Bruce Barth and Mulgrew Miller. In 2007, he released his first album as a leader, featuring his own music for a trio. “Candombinho”, one of his pieces, was recorded by El Arranque orchestra and performed at the International Tango Festival in Paris, in 2008. “Milonguinha”, another one of his pieces, was performed for the first time by Paquito D’Rivera at the Jazz at Lincoln Center.
