Biography

Singer Judy Niemack was born in California, but has been living in Berlin since 1995 where she is the director of the vocal department of the Jazz Institut Berlin. She also works at the Musikene, School of Music of the Basque Country, in San Sebastián, Spain. She works as a singer and teacher both in Europe and in the United States. She wrote the lyrics of over eighty songs and has recently written the music and lyrics for a tribute program to sculptor Eduardo Chillida. Her recent projects include the release of her tenth album as a leader, In the Sundance (BluJazz, 2009), and her third album-book, Hear It & Sing It!-Exploring the Blues.
