Synopsis
In 2004, actor Guillermo Pfening (back then a newcomer) presented a very peculiar short film: Caito, which dealt with his younger brother and win him a George Melies award. Luis “Caito” Pfening suffers from a kind of muscular dystrophy that affected his growth and conditions his motor capacities. Like most of his family, he lives in Marcos Juarez, in the province of Cordoba. Caito, the full-length film, is an extension and development of that short film’s potential, and features both a documentary recording of Caito’s activities and a storyline in which he’s the hero, climbed on his quadracycle like a cowboy on his horse. And at the same time, the making of the film itself, a backstage that includes the testimonies of the people participating in it. It’s an ambitious task for which Guillermo Pfening gets help from his family and some colleagues, like Lucas Ferraro, Barbara Lombardo, Romina Ricci and Juan Bautista Stagnaro. A film that is a tribute, a dedication, and a cry for freedom: both formal and the other kind.
