Patricio Carpossi

Patricio Carpossi took his first guitar lessons at the age of 10. His musical education was carried out in Buenos Aires at the Instituto Tecnológico de Música Contemporánea and privately with Armando Alonso, Pablo Bobrowicky, Manolo Juárez and Irma Costanzo. At the age of 20 he travelled to New York, where he stayed for six months and took lessons with Peter Bernstein, Steve Cardenas, Bruce Barth, Barry Harris and Sam Newsome. In 2000 he was granted a scholarship to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied until 2003.
Patricio has been taking part in different ensembles alongside artists like Hernán Merlo, Carlos Lastra, Mariano Otero, Sergio Verdinelli, Luis Nacht, Enrique Norris and Natalio Sued, among others. He has performed in several events and cities, including the Holland Festival, the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, Santiago de Chile, Las Leñas, La Pampa, San Nicolás, Azul, Santa Fe, the Teatro Real in Córdoba and the jazz club circuit of the City. He has recently released his album Vidrieras (Uanchu, 2009) alongside his quintet. He is also a member of Hernán Merlo’s quartet, the Mariano Otero Orquesta and the Sergio Verdinelli Trío.
