Biography

Double bass player and composer Matt Pavolka grew up in Bloomington, Indiana. He has played with Lee Konitz, Paul Motian, Guillermo Klein, Chris Cheek, Kevin Hayes, Ben Monder, House of Illusion, Josh Roseman’s Extended Constellations, Dave Binney, The Ryan Scott Orchestra, Elysian Fields, Joe Beck, J. Geils, Tony Malaby, Bill McHenry, Matt Renzi, Pete Rende and Ohad Talmor’s Newsreel. He has toured the United States, Japan and Europe, in addition to recording with Magalie Souriou, Guillermo Klein, Marlon Browdon, Nate Radley and House of Illusion. Something People Can Use (Tone of a Pitch Records) is his first album as a leader.
