Biography

Double bass player, composer and teacher Carlos Andrés Álvarez was born in Toledo, Spain, in 1979 but has lived in Argentina since very young. He has played and recorded with Jorge Navarro (with whom he performed in a trio at the Colon Theater, with the Philharmonic), Ricardo Cavalli, Juan Cruz de Urquiza, Gustavo Bergalli, Richard Nant and Patricio Carpossi, among others. He has also accompanied international musicians such as James Moody, Jon Seiger, Ron Anthony, Tim Collins and Jarmo Savolainen. His compositions appear on Viejo cactus (PAI), Carlos Álvarez Quinteto, Otro jardín (PAI), Lado A Lado B (Southersound).
