Bruno Chevillon

Biography

Double bass player Bruno Chevillon was born in Valréas, France, in 1959. He studied at the Conservatory of Fine Arts in Avignon. In 1982, he attended André Jaume’s classes and joined his group of musicians. He later became part of GRIM, a Marseille-based improvisation ensemble. He has played with Louis Sclavis, what marked a turning point in his career; D. Humair, M. Portal, Jean-François Jenny-Clark, Joëlle Léandre and Barre Phillips. He was part of the Marvelous Band and Raulin and Ville’s quartet. He was a founding member of the Acoustic Quartet and played in a trio with trombonist Yves Robert and drummer Aaron Scott.
