Life along the banks of the Paraguay River is defined by the river; we hear the thoughts and fast-flowing memories of two fishermen brothers. They reflect on their lives and future, and wait for the right moment to flee. It’s the 70’s, the hardest years of Alfredo Stroessner’s long dictatorship. Originally conceived as a full length film, the last work of Paraguayan Hammock director “is a story of disappearances, of disappeared brothers and images; the compilation of a memory that almost doesn’t exist”.
